Synopsis from Goodreads: Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.
My Review: Thirteen Reasons Why, Wow. This book really got inside my head and make me think about a lot of different things. This book makes you think about a lot of things you don't really want to think but that need to be thought about everyonce in a while. Teen suicide is a topic that people really do not like to talk about and because of that it is not discussed enough. This book shines a spotlight on it in a perfect way since it comes from the teenagers point of view. Hannah's voice throughout the book sounded so natural and believable that we could have been reading a non-fiction story. Hannah's narraration and Clay's flowed perfectly together. The story made us fall in love with the characters and feel for them as if they were our own classmates. This book really makes you feel like you are in living the book, not all books can do that and it makes the reader experience the book in a more emotional way that way. Asher really knows how to portray a teenagers pain and passion. This book left a mark on me and i think everyone teenagers and adults should all read this book at least once. A Must Read.
Highly Recomemded
